Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh make an excellent team of judges for X-Factor, but ITV bosses are fuming over Cowell’s insistence that Louis appears as one of the judges on X-Factor 2014. Cowell and Walsh’s back-and-forth banter and semi-arguments make for a better show, but it seems that the ITV executives don’t realize that.
It’s the TV show on everyone’s lips – but there’s one member of the team whose position is in jeopardy.
The X Factor is set to return to our screens later this year –with auditions beginning in June – but it looks like, although Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole are returning to the panel, veteran Louis Walsh may not.
It’s been reported the 61-year-old Irish boy band manager is to be left out of this year’s judging line-up, if ITV bosses have their way – but his old friend Simon Cowell is standing up for him.
An ITV source told The Sun: ‘We want the panel to be as strong as it can be and if that means getting rid of people who have been on it before, so be it.’
They added: ‘It’s not just Simon’s show – it’s ITV’s so we have a big say.’
The Irish boy band manager was part of the X Factor panel from the very beginning – back in 2004 – alongside Simon and Sharon Osbourne.
In March it was reported the nation’s sweetheart Cheryl, who is returning to the panel after a four year hiatus, wasn’t keen on having Louis back either.

Simon Cowell needs to push harder to get Louis Walsh on the show, in my honest opinion. In fact I love watching beautiful Cheryl Cole, but the original X-Factor judges made the show. Let’s get Ms. Osborne back too! What do you think?
