Dermot O’Leary gears up for charity football match

This Friday Dermot O’ Leary tried something different than his usual TV and radio act: he was an official tosser at a charity ‘real football’ match in Chiddingstone, Kent, where he got married last year.. And he took it seriously, because he got dressed in typical country wear, leaving his dapper tailored suits for chinos, green wellington boots and a wax jacket. To complete his look he accessorized with a blue flat cap, leather gloves and a scarf around the neck.

Nobody knew that the X Factor host was so good at handling the ball, giving an impressive throw to start to the game. ‘Real football’, which is a mix of rugby and football,  quickly captivated Dermot who was cheering from the sidelines. After the game he tweeted: Thanks to all at Chiddingstone for another great day #gemofengland . Quite surreal game of no rules football.  #chiddingstonerealfootball #countrydrunks

Dermot’s presence at the game was no surprise, because he is a passionate football fan, that supports Arsenal F.C., Celtic F.C. , London Irish RUFC and Wexford GAA in Gaelic Games. That’s a lot of football watching!

Business wise, things aren’t so great for Dermot because earlier this month he had to close one of his fish eateries in Poole, Dorset, due to the economic crisis, but at least his Brighton Branch is doing well.

Dermot is preparing to present the new X Factor series, for the sixth time. In a recent interview he said the show is all about talent and dedication and is not for ‘wannabes’
