The former X Factor judge has returned in the UK after relocating in Melbourne, her native town, since 2011 when she gave up her seat on the panel. She is single again, after splitting from partner Kris Smith last year, but she recently declared in an interview that she would like to have another child, a half-sibling for her two years old son, Ethan.
Unfortunately, that will turn out a bit difficult to accomplish, because she revealed that apparently men “don’t approach her too often”. I’d like more children. I get very broody when I see other people’s babies. The trouble is I’m not approached by men very often, she said in an interview for the Mirror. Moreover, when guys do find the courage to woo her, they get a bit too “forward” and that puts her off: A British guy came up the other day in a bar and I just could not get rid of him.
In the meantime, Danii is excited to get back on TV, with her show Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model. This new contract of hers apparently put off any of Cowell’s plans to bring her back on the X Factor panel. Danii refused a £1 million contract to replace Kelly Rowland, explaining that X Factor is not part of her life, not at the moment. Instead, she is thrilled by her new role saying that: I think it will be interesting for viewers to see me do something completely different. I can’t wait to get back on British TV and I’m not nervous at all.
The singer and former X Factor judge had a pretty wild year, breaking up with Kris Smith after a four year relationship and then having to deal with her affair with Cowell made public. But now she has put all behind her and enjoys her life being a mum. Danii’s move back to Australia gave her the chance to deal with all the turmoil and also allowed her son to live a normal life, who apparently loves to travel and live in two homes.
It is the most amazing experience to be able to say to him, ‘Mum works in London, let’s jump on a plane. We stopped in Abu Dhabi and he saw camels. You can’t learn that at a crèche. It’s a great experience. He has just taken to it. I thought he’d take a lot more adjusting to it but he has travelled since he was born, Danii told about their adventures. But she specified that Australia will remain her home: Australia is home. I needed somewhere to call home. It is nice when we are here in London though, and we get time with Kylie. Auntie Kylie comes into action! Ethan listens to Kylie songs. She did a duet with Australian kids’ characters the Wiggles and he loves it. He has also been to a Kylie concert. He was in the front row!
Danii also talked about her rediscovered love for Britain and how her little one is discovering it step by step: It does feel good to be back. I feel quite like a tourist because I have arrived back with my baby boy, who is now a toddler, so I am seeing the city though his eyes and that is completely different for me — walking around every street corner with snowflakes coming down.
It was the first time he had seen snow. He saw it drop on my coat, thought it was dirt and was trying to brush it off, saying, ‘Mummy, Mummy’. I told him it was snow and he was trying to put two and two together. He’d heard about it but had never seen it before. He was amazed!
Talking about her upcoming show, Danii admitted she feels the pressure being alongside so many models because she hasn’t been working out and the only way she’s staying in shape is by chasing her son and picking him up.
I’m not a typical model but I have got a lot to offer because if I can do it then so can they.I used to get very nervous when I was having my photo taken but weirdly, since I was pregnant, I don’t get nervous any more. I felt so beautiful being pregnant. I loved having a big bump.
The 5ft 2in singer added: I look at the girls on the show and they are so tall! They are nervous in front of the camera and I remember that
