There is a rumour going around that Robbie Williams is the latest name added on the list of celebrities that could form the new panel for the X Factor competition, starting later this year.
First it was Rita Ora who said that she was asked to be a judge, and now it seems that the show’s bosses are thinking of reuniting Gary Barlow with his former Take That colleague Robbie Williams. If this is going to happen there will be some serious fireworks going on.
An inside source has declared for The Sun that: This is the dream team. We have been looking at the show and thinking the unthinkable. Robbie is exactly the right person for the show — but we don’t want to lose Gary to get him. We want them both. Robbie’s people are saying he is too busy to do the show.
Robbie has been on the ITV show before as a mentor, during Gary’s judges house round, and he enjoyed the show. That’s why the inside source considers that everything will be fine, taking into consideration that they worked around each other and toured together for the Take That reunion. We know Robbie loves the show and he and Gary have a great friendship and rivalry — there will be fireworks for sure.
For those worried about Louis Walsh and his departure from the panel, bringing Robbie in doesn’t mean that the veteran will be kicked off. The same source told The Sun that: Louis’s future is as up in the air as it has been in any other year — but if Robbie and Gary do sign it will not necessarily mean curtains for him. The producers are relaxed about the gender make-up of the panel. It is all about having big personalities.
So it seems all we can do right now is wait and root that Robbie would be offered the job and accepted it, even though it seems like a very busy year for him. He has a new album, a new tour and on top of that he’s a brand new father. But he’s Robbie so who knows what surprises he has for us!
