Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway To Be Continued

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is scheduled for a new season next year.  The immensely popular show, averaging 7.1 million viewers a week, is one of ITV’s best prime time offering.  Ant and Dec have a natural ability to host this type of show and they do it better than anyone else. Stay tuned for Saturday Night Takeaway next year too!

Ant and Dec are ready to rumble on for another year after ITV chiefs ordered an 11th run of hit TV show Saturday Night Takeaway.

The current series of the show – their first for four years – has proved enormously popular averaging 7.1 million viewers a week.

And the Geordie duo are also on course to be number one on Sunday after performing Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble nearly 20 years after it topped the charts in 1994.

The programme sees the pair surprising unsuspecting members of the public, pulling pranks on celebrities and acting out comedy sketches, as well as guest appearances from a string of stars.

Yesterday Ant McPartlin said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to this series, especially after four years off air.”

Declan Donnelly added: “We’ve absolutely loved every minute of the shows this year and can’t wait to get working on another series for next year.”

The first series of Saturday Night Takeaway aired in summer 2002 and the show ran until 2009.

The pals met as child stars on children’s BBC drama Byker Grove and forged a pop career as their characters PJ and Duncan.

Their nostalgic return to music on the show prompted a flurry of downloads and put them at number one in the midweek charts, much to their surprise.

Ant explained that they decided to perform after needing to fill the slot at the end of the programme.
