A Children’s presenter, A Viscountess, American television star and a table tennis champion … the list goes on. Today we can reveal ALL fifteen contestants with such a variety of people of all levels of dance skills, who will hit the Strictly dance-floor this Autumn.
1/ Karim Zeroual – Children’s BBC presenter – 19
Karim is the 7th celebrity to join the lineup for the 2019 Strictly show. Karim is looking forward to the flamboyant costumes, and is hoping he’ll be in it for the long stint!
“To be offered the chance to take part in Strictly is dumbfounding, I’m pinching myself…!” said Karim. “The more flamboyant the better…. sequins galore please!!!”
Karim started his career as a television actor, before getting a regular spot on CBBC HQ. He starred in a show called The Sparticle Mystery, which ran between 2011 and 2015. It was a very popular show with children, getting more than 2 million hits on the BBC IPlayer. He starred as Sadiq in this show. As well as this, he has made appearances in eastenders, Blue Peter, Saturday Mash-up and Top Class.
Like many young actors and musicians coming through on our new TV shows, Karim went to the Sylvia Young Theatre School. He also starred in the West End production of The Lion King as the lion Simba, as well as a role at the London Palladium show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

2/ Jamie Laing – Reality star – 30
Jamie has been gracing our screens since 2011 in the reality tv series Made in Chelsea. He was born in Oxford and is an heir to the McVities digestive biscuit empire. Strictly normally does not have reality TV stars on the line-up, so this will be a first for the show.

3/ Dev Griffin – Radio DJ – 34
Dev is a radio presenter on the weekend afternoon show on BBC Radio 1. He joined radio one in 2002 presenting a show with Reggie Yates, The Lowdown with Reg and Dev, on Saturday afternoons.
4/ James Cracknell – 47
James is a British athelete, a rowing champion and double Olympic gold medalist. James also won a gold medal earlier this year with Cambridge, at The annual Boat Race, Cambridge vs Oxford. He became the oldest competitor and oldest winner for competing and winning in this race! He is frequently seen on various sports TV shows, as well as being a columnist with The Daily Telegraph writing on various topics.
5/ Alex Scott – Footballer – 34
Alex has been on our screens most recently as a pundit during the Womens World Cup 2019. She has made an impressive transition from pitch to pundit, and can now regularly be seen on Sky sports. Sports women have always done quite well on the TV show. Alex has over 140 caps for playing for England from 2004-2017. She hung up her professional football boots in 2018, finishing as a fantastic 6 year stint with Arsenal.
6/ Michelle Visage – American TV star – 50
Maybe quite unknown and new to UK TV viewers. Michelle is drag Queens Ru Pauls side kick in infamous show Ru Paul Drag Race. Michelle has taken part in Irelands Got Talent show as a judge, but how will she feel at the other side of a judging panel! She is also a singer and actress. Micelle was revealed as a contestant on the Lorraine show earlier in the week.

We saw some fantastic dancing from fellow American Ashley Roberts in 2018, but will Michelle pip her to the post and be our first winner from across the waters. She needs the UK voters on her side!
7/ Will Bayley – Paralympian – 31
Will is a paralympic who is ranked number one for table tennis. @I’m so proud to be on the show, it’s my family’s favourite show. I have no dance experience at all, but I hope I can do well.”
Will continue to say that he hopes this will inspire people and prove that all people can do this. Will was born with arthrogryposis which affects all four of his limbs. Its going to be hard and a real challenge for his as his balance is affected by his condition.
8/ Emma Weymouth – Vicountess – 33
Emma is an English Chef, model and philanthropist. Emma is married to Cealwlin Thynn, The Viscount of Weymouth. Emma has modelled for Dolce & Gabbana. She also has her own cooking show online called ‘Emma’s Kitchen’. On her show she cooks historic recipes as well as her own creations in the kitchen of Longleat estate.
9/ Anneka Rice – UK TV legend – 60
Anneka needs no introduction as she bounded from helicopters onto our screens back in the 80s on channel 4’s TV show Treasure hunt. This show consisted of 2 contestants trying to solve clues, and Anneka flying around the UK in a bid to find the next clue to help them find the treasure. Anneka was a part of the show for almost 11 years. She also had another show called Challenge Anneka. A charitable show, it saw Anneka have to complete a charitable task within a few days, e.g. build a play area for children, etc.
10/ Mike Bushell – Sports presenter – 53

11/ Saffron Barker – Youtube star – 19
Following after a successful Joe Sugg in 2018, Saffron will be hoping to make a similar vote of confidence on the dancefloor. Strictly have been trying to obtain a younger following for the show, so have started introducing these social media whizz-kids to make an impression on the show.
12/ Catherine Tyldesley – Soap star – 35
Catherine played … in one of the UK’s much loved soaps, Coronation Street
Catherine was hoping to do a stint on the West End, but first we’ll see her strutting her stuff on the Strictly ballroom.
13/ Chris Ramsey – Comedian – 33
Chris’s wife Rosie is a super fan of the show, and can’t wait to see her husband dressed to impress and strutting his stuff on the dance floor. “If you end up looking better than me after this show, I will be F**king fuming” said Chris’s wife. Rosie laid down some ground rules, that Chris must not show any nipples, and must wear a codpiece to prevent him from straying!
14/ David James – Footballer – 49
Liverpool and Westham goal stopper David James, hopes to beat the goalkeepers previous dire performances, to impress on the dancefloor. Can he do better than Peter Shilton and Peter Schmeichel!
15/ Emma Barton – Soap star – 42
Emma stars as Honey Mitchell in one of the UK’s biggest soaps, Eastenders.
