Dancing On Ice 2013's Phillip Shoefield and Christine Bleakley

Phillip Schofield has been desperate to try his hand at ice skating for years and now it seems he may finally get his chance.

The This Morning host also fronts ITV’s Dancing On Ice and previously bosses have always banned him from taking to the ice, because of insurance issues. However, it’s been claimed that producers have now changed their mind and this year he and fellow presenter Christine Bleakley will be conducting some of their interviews on the rink, so have been getting some training from the professionals.

The series will return revamped and renewed in January and it’s thought that Phil and Christine could even do their own version of Dermot O’Leary’s X Factor dance, only on ice.

A source told The Daily Record:

“In the past, the presenters have been banned from the ice in case of injury.

“But this year it’s been decided that it would be fun to see Phillip and Christine giving it a go themselves.

“It’s a surefire way to jazz up the programme.”
