So it’s finally happening, as it has been rumoured to be happening for a while now. Britain’s Got Talent , The Champions, is coming to a screen near you. This is the first time Britains Got Talent has done one of these types of shows, and it is also rumoured that The X-Factor may be doing something similar this year as well! This could be a very exciting year to see all your favourite past acts back performing over the course of this special season.
So, lets talk about Britain’s Got Talent! The show, created by Simon Cowell, first hit our screens in 2007 and has continued to be a massive success, every year since. This show has allowed hundreds to take their talents to the stage, and try to impress the famous judges, standing between them and a public vote. There is only one winner for each season who wins both a cash prize but also wins a slot to perform at that year’s Royal Variety Performance, which means they will be performing in front of members of the British Royal Family.
The show has now produced 13 such winners, who have ranged from all sorts of talents.
In 2007 we saw Paul Potts, operatic singing top the bill, and win the first show. Among the other winners were, Diversity, Ashleigh and the infamous doggy pudsey, Lost Voice Guy, and singer George Sampson.
However it is not only the winners who go on to become famous and make their talent a career. In 2009 we saw Susan Boyle lose out to Diversity, but her career has gone on leaps and bounds, and she is now a worldwide performer to this day.
One thing we love about this show, is the banter between all the judges! The most recent judging panel has been Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon. We’ve seen Amanda looking glorious in holiday snaps, and even Simon Cowell has trimmed up for this years show!
What performers will be gracing the stage this year to entertain us!
