Ant and Dec Golden Buzzer Act: Britain’s Got Talent 2014

Ant and Dec waited until the very last day of auditions to press their Golden Buzzer — something you have not yet seen on the live show. Only Amanda Holden has pressed hers thus far.  She pressed it for dancer Paddy Jones and her partner Nico.

Ant and Dec are backing their golden buzzer act all the way.

The Geordie duo stood in for an ill Simon Cowell at auditions in Manchester this year and they even got the chance to chose their own golden buzzer act.

The new audition twist sees each of the judges given one chance to use a special golden buzzer which sends the act on stage straight through to the live semi-finals in May.

Dec explained: “We waited until the very last day of auditions to press ours. We didn’t do that on purpose – there were a few acts that we would have gone for but the judges got there first.

“We were on the last session of the last day and we said, ‘If there’s not anything we really want to go for then we don’t have to press the Golden Buzzer’.

“But we were very impressed with our act, he got a great audience reaction, everybody loved him and we thought he deserved to go through to the live shows.”

Ant and Dec were given the right to use the Golden Buzzer and they didn’t let the opportunity slip. They say they only pressed it because the act they saw deserved it, but was it because it was the last act and they hadn’t pressed it yet? It’s hard to say, but the answer doesn’t change the outcome. The last act — which you are waiting to see — went straight through.
